About Golf Handicap

Golf Handicap is a personal handicap tracker for South African golfers. It calculates your handicap index using the official World Handicap System (WHS) formula, and helps you track every round you play.

Important Notice

Golf Handicap is not an official handicapping service. Only GolfRSA, through the HNA system, can issue an official Handicap Index in South Africa. To get an official handicap, you must be a member of a golf club affiliated with GolfRSA.

This app is intended for personal tracking and reference. The calculations match the WHS formula, but the results are not recognized as an official handicap.

Data & Privacy

Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase and is only accessible to you. We do not sell or share your data with anyone. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore database), located in Johannesburg, South Africa. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you can access your own data — our security rules prevent anyone else from seeing your rounds.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party. Ever. The only exception is if required by law.

Your Rights (POPIA)

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:

• Access your personal data at any time
• Correct any inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Object to processing of your data
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator

Data Deletion

You can delete individual rounds and courses directly in the app. To delete your entire account and all data, please contact us. We will permanently delete your account within 30 days.

Age

This app is suitable for golfers of all ages. We do not collect age information and we do not target advertising or content based on age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Any significant changes will be announced in the app. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
